Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy FAQS

What can I expect from my HBOT session?

HBOT is very safe and very comfortable. As with any change in pressure, you will feel a pressure differential in your ears—and will be coached on how to clear your ears prior to your session. This sensation is very mild and will be the only sensation that you feel.

What are the mechanisms of action behind HBOT?

Decreased bubble size, hyperoxygenation, reduced lipid peroxidation, vasoconstriction, reduced leukocyte adherence, toxin inhibition, antibiotic synergy, growth factor release, fibroblast proliferation/collagen synthesis, increased  stem cell proliferation, reverse transcriptase, reduced cytokine activity (reduced inflammation)

Can I bring my phone into the chamber?

Our chambers allow for electronic devices, such as cell phones, ear buds or a tablet.

What should I wear?

There are no restrictions on clothing, however, we request that there is no use of heavy perform, cologne or scented items. If you are a smoker, we request that you refrain from smoking the day of your session. Additionally, please be aware of body odor and hygiene.

What is the difference between the soft-shell and hard shell Hyperbaric chambers?

Aside from the material they are made of and the size of the chamber, the only real difference is the atmospheric pressure that one is exposed to while inside. The hard shell chambers are constructed in a way that allow for higher levels of pressure, which in turn, equates to higher levels of oxygen absorption.
